Plan
How It Works
Get Clear. Get Confident. Get Moving.
You don’t need to arrive at EMPIXO with everything organised. You might have a clear goal. You might have ten competing goals. Or your finances might feel completely tangled. That’s okay.
EMPIXO Mentoring is currently delivered one-to-one online, and our job is to help you make sense of where you are, learn something useful, build your plan and start moving toward where you want to be.
And we believe something else is important: you should feel like you’ve had a win. Not necessarily a massive financial transformation after every meeting, just a small win. Because small wins create momentum, and momentum, repeated over time, can create very different outcomes.

The Process
The EMPIXO Journey
Risk → Empowerment → Freedom.
The EMPIXO Approach
Every Meeting Needs a Win
Financial goals can be enormous: paying off a mortgage, building an investment portfolio, buying a home, preparing for retirement, building financial security for your family. Those outcomes can take years, sometimes decades. If that’s all we measure, it can feel like we’re never getting anywhere. So we’ll look for the smaller wins too.
Your win this week might be:
Small? Maybe. But financial progress is often built from hundreds of small decisions. Small wins → momentum → bigger outcomes.

Every Session
Learn Something. Keep Something. Do Something.
Every session should leave you better equipped than when you arrived. We want you to take away:
Clarity
Untangle something. Understand the problem better.
Knowledge
Learn something. Build financial capability you can keep.
A Tool
Take something with you: a calculator, framework or system.
Action
Know your next practical move.
A Win
Move the scoreboard. However small, make progress.
Five things. Every session. Clarity. Knowledge. Tool. Action. Win.
Where We Start
Let’s Untangle the Financial Mess
Sometimes the hardest part is knowing where to start. Mortgage. Credit cards. KiwiSaver. Business. Property. Insurance. Savings. Investments. Bills. Family. Tax. Retirement. Ten browser tabs open and another 50 things you’ve been told you should be doing.
We’ll slow it down. What actually matters? What needs attention now? What can wait? What don’t you understand yet? What’s within your control? Who else do we need?
Then we start pulling the threads apart. Clarity before complexity.

Build Your Financial Report Card
School Report Cards Eventually Stop. Your Financial Report Card Doesn’t.
For years we’re given report cards: maths, English, science, attendance, achievement. Then we leave school and those reports eventually disappear. But another kind of report card starts becoming one of the report cards that starts to matter most: your Financial Report Card.
It isn’t about whether you’re “good” or “bad” with money, and it certainly isn’t a measure of your worth as a person. It’s a way of asking: how financially strong are my foundations? Your report card might look at areas such as:
Cash Flow
Do you control where your money goes?
Emergency Fund
Could you handle an unexpected financial shock?
Debt
Is your debt helping you build, or holding you back?
Savings
Are you consistently keeping some of what you earn?
KiwiSaver
Do you understand what you’re building?
Investing
Are you building assets outside your everyday income?
Protection
Have you thought about the risks around you and your family?
Housing
Is your housing position supporting your wider goals?
Income
Are you developing your ability to earn and create opportunities?
Retirement
Are today’s decisions helping your future self?
Family & Legacy
Are important financial, legal and family conversations happening?
You don’t need an A+ everywhere. That’s not the point. Find the areas that need work. Improve them one at a time. Then come back and look at the report card again.
Build Your Tight Five
Smart People Don’t Build Alone.
One of the things we want to help you understand is that building a strong financial life doesn’t mean knowing everything yourself. Successful people build networks. They know who to call.
Depending on where you’re heading, your Tight Five might eventually include:
Or perhaps your circumstances require different people: a business mentor, property specialist, insurance adviser, tax professional or another trusted expert. Your five may change as your life changes.
The important thing is: know who’s in your corner.
You shouldn’t need to search Google from scratch every time something happens. Part of building financial capability is building your network of trusted people before you desperately need them.
Knowing When You’re Ready
We’ll Help You Know When It’s Time to Act
Education is powerful. Planning is powerful. But eventually there comes a point where you need to make a decision. That’s Act.
Our job through mentoring isn’t to push you into financial products. It’s to help you become knowledgeable and confident enough to recognise “I’m ready for the next conversation.”
Maybe you’ve spent six months getting financially organised and you’re finally ready to speak with a mortgage adviser. Maybe you’ve built your emergency fund and now want to understand investing. Maybe you’ve realised your family needs proper estate planning. Maybe you’ve learned enough about KiwiSaver to realise you need personalised regulated advice. Maybe you’ve grown your business and it’s time for better accounting or tax support.
Learn gives you knowledge. Plan gives you direction. Act turns that direction into movement.
EMPIXO’s own regulated Act capability is being developed. Until those services are available, we can help you recognise when specialist professional advice is needed and work alongside appropriate third-party professionals.
Beyond the Spreadsheet
Confidence Is Part of the Outcome
There is another result we want from mentoring that doesn’t always appear on a spreadsheet. Confidence.
Confidence to open the banking app. Confidence to ask the bank questions. Confidence to challenge something you don’t understand. Confidence to talk about money with your partner. Confidence to meet an accountant. Confidence to sit down with an adviser. Confidence to understand an investment conversation.
Confidence to say: “No, I don’t understand that. Explain it to me.”
And eventually: “I’ve got this.” That’s empowerment.

The Real Goal
We Want You to Outgrow Us
The goal isn’t to make you dependent on EMPIXO. It’s the opposite. Every meeting should add something to your financial toolkit: knowledge, systems, connections, confidence, experience, better questions, small wins. And over time, those things compound too.
You become better equipped to navigate financial decisions yourself. You recognise problems earlier. You understand opportunities sooner. You know who to call.
And you become increasingly ready to move from Learn → Plan → Act.

Start With One Conversation
You don’t need a spreadsheet. You don’t need to have everything organised. You don’t need to understand investing. And you don’t need to know what your financial plan should look like.
Tell us what’s happening. We’ll untangle it. We’ll find the starting point. We’ll learn something. We’ll build the next step. And we’ll look for your first win.
